The location of this court has changed several times. Until 2018, this court was at a different address in the same building, 2 Washington Street. It was located at 17 Rector Street just a few years before that. The closest DMV is about a block away, at 11 Greenwich Street. Some of its courtrooms offer views of the Lower Manhattan skyline and the Statue of Liberty.

Manhattan South is easily reachable by multiple major MTA subway lines; the closest stations are the Bowling Green stop on the 4/5 trains and the Rector Street stop on the 1 train. A private parking lot is located about a block away, adjacent to the former location at 2 Washington Street. This lot is convenient for a visit to Manhattan South, but you can expect to pay Downtown Manhattan prices to park.

This Court is the busiest in the system regarding total cases heard yearly. It is also considered one of the better ones in the system for motorists, especially those represented by counsel. Manhattan South covers some of the busiest and most ticketed streets in America — in Manhattan, south of 59th Street.
